Una forma conosciuta, acquisita dalla memoria collettiva, della quale porta l’aspetto familiare, la traccia di una correlazione. Mathilda è un progetto moderno in senso architettonico, nel rapporto proporzionale tra l’insieme e il dettaglio. L’idea è semplice, perfetta per la funzione alla quale è riservata: due cavalletti conferiscono solidità e appartenenza, sorreggono la seduta prestandosi contemporaneamente come sostegni per lo schienale e come supporto impilabile. L’intuizione, ponderata e sobria, riporta il progetto nel contemporaneo, nella possibilità di evolvere verso un sistema di sedute coerente, funzionale e riconoscibile. A recognized shape borrowed from our collective memory, hence its familiar feel; it carries the traces of a correlation. Mathilda is a modern project in an architectural sense, balancing proportions of the whole piece and its details. The concept is simple and perfectly suited to its purpose: two trestles give stability, they support the seat and backrest and make the chair easy to stack. The well-thought out design makes the project thoroughly up-to-date, and creates a seating system which is coherent, functional and distinctive. The “Mathilda” series expands to include new items with a bar stool, an armchair and a dining table. Armchair and stool. Seat and upholstered back are flame-retardant, stress-resistant polyurethane foam in varied densities on ash frame; raffia-wrapped back is also available.
