Riduzione ai minimi termini di una forma. I Decori : un volume assoluto con patina materica e una parte di esso, più ridotta, per contrasto assoluto, decorata a fiorami o a forme di fregi dorati. I Bassorilievi : recupero di fregi, capitelli, lesene di mobili classici schiacciati nella materia e resi fantasmagorici dalle vene trasversali del legno che li attraversano e li confondono. Questo lavoro vuole anche essere un contributo alla ricerca di una nuova eleganza, ricca di italianità e tradizione, collegata al territorio toscano e alle sue esperienze e allo stesso tempo internazionale e contemporanea. Quindi un contributo al mondo dell’arredo, tentativodi cogliere un qualcosa che non c’è ancora, ma che è come nell’aria e che probabilmente è destinato a divenire un tema sempre più forte all’interno dell’attuale elaborazione progettuale sospesa tra modernità e decorazione. Il tentativo di rimettere in gioco sapienze artigianali, ma inserendole in un percorso industriale e di mercato maturo, significa anche riscattare queste tecniche dall’abbandono, ma anche da una visione nostalgica ed antistorica dell’artigiano come forma di solitario esecutore romantico e ritrovare viceversa in questa unità tra produzione industriale e artigianale una forma di vera identità per il Made in Italy, riuscendo ad inserire quel tanto di unico ed irripetibile, manuale dentro una produzione seriale. The various collections are enriched with upholstered furniture and chairs, some go with single collections while others are free-ranging. This work is meant as a contribution to the search for a new form of elegance, abundant in Italian character and tradition, linked to Tuscany and its experiences, but at the same time international and contemporary. Thus a contribution to the world of home design, an attempt to grasp something that still does not exist, but that is “in the air”, and destined to grow in importance in modern-day design, somewhere between modernity and decoration. The attempt to bring back artisanal know-how, placing it in an industrial context and a mature market, also means rediscovering lost techniques, and removing the nostalgic and anti-historical vision of the craftsman as a sort of solitary romantic. Rather, it means finding, in this unity of industrial and craft production, a true identity for Italian-made items, succeeding in placing what was unique and unrepeatable, created by manual labour, inside the sphere of mass production. 9 8
