TUSCANY NAOTO FUKASAWA Renowned designer Naoto Fukasawa presents his latest exploration of shape and form with Tuscany, his interpretation of the archetype of the chaise longue that marks an important contribution to the collaboration with Molteni&C, recalling new suggestions. The form is the result of meticulous technical development by the Research and Development Department at Molteni&C, which, together with the designer, created the ideal balance and proportions for the chaise’s unique shape. The smooth, rounded legs are made from solid wood and are connected by a satin brass H-frame, providing a sturdy and stylish base for the chaise longue. The shape of the chaise longue is obtained by curving different layers of wood, obtaining its characteristic shape. It is the result of a meticulous process obtained by the Molteni&C Research and Development department, which studied the ideal balance and proportions together with the designer. The legs that support the structure are made of solid wood and connected by a satin brass H-frame, providing an elegant base. The cushions, with different bearing capacities, are connected to one another by carefully hidden zippers and form an articulated whole that neatly hugs the structure. These are available in several types of fabrics and leathers of Molteni&C easily complement. The rounded headrest moves independently from the square cushions and is balanced by a metal dowel held by adjustable straps to hold it in place, allowing for customised comfort. Tuscany is available in two different versions: the first integrate the eucalyptus finishing with painted satin brass, the second one pairs the natural sunrise oak to the brightness of the stainless steel for a more contemporary effect. La forma della chaise longue è ottenuta curvando e assemblando diversi strati di legno, ottenendo la sua caratteristica forma. Si tratta del risultato di un meticoloso processo ottenuto dal dipartimento di Ricerca e Sviluppo di Molteni&C, che ne ha studiato insieme al designer l’equilibrio e le proporzioni ideali. Le gambe che sorreggono la struttura sono anch’esse realizzate in legno massello e collegate da un telaio ad H in ottone satinato, fornendo una base robusta ed elegante. I cuscini a portanza differenziata, collegati tra loro da cerniere accuratamente nascoste, formano un insieme articolato che abbraccia ordinatamente la struttura. Questi sono realizzabili nelle diverse tipologie di tessuti e pelli di Molteni&C, creando una piacevole armonia con gli altri elementi della Collezione. Il poggiatesta arrotondato è pensato per essere regolato in modo indipendente ed è bilanciato da un tassello in metallo sorretto da cinghie, consentendo il massimo del comfort. Tuscany è disponibile in due diverse versioni: la prima abbina la finitura eucalipto a dettagli metallici in ottone satinato, la seconda coniuga la finitura naturale del rovere sunrise alla lucentezza dell’acciaio inox, per un effetto più contemporaneo. 266 267
